Enable Staging Projects

Designer provides basic support for moving Identity Manager projects from one stage to another. An administrator can now store additional objects in the LDIF format, even those that are not modeled in Designer. These objects can be edited by using a text editor, exported to an LDIF file, and deployed back to the Identity Vault in the subsequent stage.

Additional objects are stored in the LDIF container under Identity Vault in Designer. These objects are created when they are imported from either Identity Vault or an LDIF file.

1. Import Additional Objects

You can import additional objects from eDirectory and store them into Designer.

2. Deploy Additional Objects

You can add or update objects in the eDirectory using the objects stored in LDIF container. If there is no LDIF editor, or the data is not in the correct format then the warning message is displayed.

3. Import from LDIF File

You can import objects into LDIF container from the LDIF file present in the filesystem.

4. Export to LDIF File

You can export the objects present in LDIF container to LDIF file.

5. Security Equivalences for Drivers

Designer also allows deploying Security Equivalences from LDIF files and associating it with the drivers. If you have the security eqvivalence object present in the LDIF container then you can deploy the security equivalence directly. This will first find the object in the LDIF container, deploy the object to the Identity Vault and then deploy the association.

The Exclude Administrative Roles also work the same way.

6. Changing LDAP Connection Properties

Designer allows you to configure LDAP connection properties for the Identity Vault. This information is used for importing and deploying objects.
